Littlt bit of info about me :- me and my gang are planning a visit out to the sunshine state in October, so we are all on countdown at the moment. We'll be staying at Pop Century and hoping to visit all the Disney and Universal Parks, including the waterparks, so we are in for a busy time. :cool: Cant wait.

I have done 11 weeks in the lovely south Atlantic and I am wishing it was the south pacific as its starting to get cold now. The nights are closing in the sun is going down about 7:30pm. Last month I had my birthday, I had managed to coincide my time off with it which was great. My Gorgeous Joe travelled 8000 miles to spend my birthday out here, upon his arrival he was immediately forgiven for the late delivery of my valentines card. Joe and i set off on a tour of east Falkland, we saw a lot of little penguins went clay pigeon shooting, canoeing and also on a battlefield tour which was a little bit heart wrenching. We went up mount Harriet, where a major battle took place during the 82 conflict, it was strange to see abandoned shoes and evidence of bunks in the rocky outcrops. Whilst on our travels we also saw the wrecks of Argentine helicopters and in Stanley (which is the capital) the harbour contains several ship wrecks from throughout the years, apparently because of its location ships find it very hard to pass around unscathed. Since my time off I have thrown myself back into work and I am finding that although time is still going quickly it is starting to feel like I have been here forever. I have 6 weeks left here and lots to look forward to when i get back. 4 weeks off to start with!!!! Mum and i have booked a little trip to Florida straight after i return and then i am tracking Joe down in Lincoln hopefully for a weekend away, but as long as get to see him i can cope without the weekend away. Anyway i am sure i have bored you all enough. Thank you to all of you who have sent cards and letters i have really appreciated them. I am still really enjoying it over here, the weather is lovely averaging about 19 degrees most days. not sure how much longer that will last. last time i wrote i was just about to go on a three day exercise playing war on the islands. well it was exhausting, we worked in a shift pattern of two hours guarding/patrolling then two hours off. which after three days barley getting more than an hours rest at a time was pretty hard. We all managed to stay up beat though lots of card games and daft conversations. One subject causing a huge amount of discussion, was not war or politics but a far more serious topic..... "would you bang brad Pitt to sleep with Angelina?" this question posed to men and was very kindly reversed for me. ha ha, bet you all sleep soundly knowing the country is in our hands???? Well sufficiently bruised and tired we returned back to work as normal, its been four days and everyone still looks dead. Hello all, So then i have been here now for two weeks and i am no longer the new guy as two more turned up this afternoon. I have finally found my way around the warren that i live in. no more penguins just yet but i have booked my week off which will be over my birthday(20th feb, cards appreciated...ha ha)hopefully my boyfriend joe will be coming over here to visit, if there are spare seats on the flight that is. I wont find out until 48hours before. if he makes it i am planning to travel around east falkland island where if i am lucky i will see all the different penguins and also seals dolphins and killer whales. trying to organise a boat trip with the navy to see the whales up close.
