Nearest to WDW?

Is the nearest Villa resort to WDW still Windsor hills area? Could possibly be tempted to be off site but with just 3 of us a Villa might be a bit big. I like the look of the Condo's but you don't get your own pool then.

Formosa Gardens and Rolling Hills are about 5 minutes from Animal Kingdom. You might find a villa the size you want if you look on VRBO. Otherwise, you need to find friends to share with!

We’ve noticed that the 192 is getting increasingly busy so the closer to WDW you can join it the better, thus Windsor Hills is about the closest ~ but these days not necessarily the quickest !! As tinklancs says Formosa Gardens / Rolling Hills is relatively close to Animal Kingdom and you can go the ‘back way’ sort of via Animal Kingdom Lodge.

We own on Indian Ridge Oaks and from there we can very easily get to 429 and then it’s straight on to I4 / World Drive this cuts out the 192 completely. About 7 or 8 minutes to Disney property. Or we can use the 192 when it’s not too busy.

we were on encantada resort, about 4 miles away, we had a 2 bed town house which was perfect for 4 adults, there was a sofa bed in the lounge too which we didnt use, we had our own hot tub and the main reception had a pool area at the back, but the hot tub was lovely when you got home from the parks

Townhouses are probably going to be a good bet, the free disney dining has enticed us for 2016 so possibly 2017 for offsite (now that is planning ahead!)

We had the free Disney dining 18 months ago and didn't like it at all, you would go into an eatery and it was well what can we eat today? you could only have, for example, an item at $2.49 so anything over that was out and you couldn't pay the difference, it also meant we were restricted where we ate and we do like to eat off site too, it really restricts you to eating at Disney in my opinion.

Some people rave about it Jen, and we thought we would give it a go we did get a really good deal, but wouldn't do it again.
BUT if you are on a really tight budget its a good way to go.

We've enjoyed the free dining! We had Counter Service when it was Jo, Ben and I and there was plenty of choice. Last time we upgraded free CS to Table Service so that we could do a lot of character meals for the girls. Again, plenty of choice. The character meals are all much the same buffet choices but aside from those we tried restaurants at other resorts and really enjoyed it. Hoping to do the same next trip.

We had free dining last year when we stayed at Saratoga Springs, we thought it was amazing, we ate at the new Boathouse restaurant, Coral Reef and the Brown Derby, all fabulous and didn't cost us a cent! We thought the choice was amazing and would definitely take advantage of any future offers.
Indian well and Indian ridge are the two closest resorts we have tried, we have booked villas when it's just been two of us, always book your villa separate and not part of a package, that way you choose what suits your party.
