  2. Hi all – we just wanted to let you know about some changes coming …

As you will be aware, DoingFlorida is currently spread across two different sites; DoingFlorida.com and DoingFloridaForums.com. We will soon be changing this so that everything will be together under one site; DoingFlorida.com.

The vast majority of our members and visitors already view our daily news on the main DoingFlorida.com site (or via our Facebook page) rather than on the forum. From this week, the daily news will appear only on the main DoingFlorida.com site, and this forum will shortly be closed down. We want to thank all our members for your fantastic support over the past eleven years, it has been great to get to know so many fellow Florida fans! If you would be interested in joining a DoingFlorida Facebook Group please let us know - it would be great to keep the community together - we will start a thread in the Members Forum so you can let us know what you think.

It's the end of an era but the start of a new one and we very much hope you will join us!

Best Wishes from the DoingFlorida Team

    Hi all,
Anyone done more than one of the disney value resort hotels ??
was wondering if there was much of a difference between
    all - star movies
    all - star music
    all - star sports
    pop century.

or are they all pretty much the same ?

Having had a little look im leaning towards pop century.

Hi Jack, we've stayed at All Stars Movies and Pop Century twice. We loved the theming at Movies and I believe all the All Stars are the same apart from the themes. We did prefer Pop, only because the location worked better for us, it's closer to Epcot, DTD and DHS, where as All Stars are near AK.

I would stay at either again, but would say that Pop edged it for us.

Also, I think that Pop has it's own bus service, where as All Stars share the same service, we don't use the buses, but this could be a consideration if you are using the Disney transport.

Anything else you want to know, just ask.

we liked that one best when we first looked at them so i think it will be out of 'movies' or 'pop'.
    thanks for your opinion. :)

Just another consideration Jack, I think the Pop rooms have all been refurbished in the last year or so.

    Thanks again Fernix.
We have booked the main accommodation for our next visit but I have promised the family that I will look into the possibility of staying in a Disney hotel just for a night or two.

We have never stayed at a Disney hotel before (we love I-Drive too much) so we wanted a 'mini' stay just to have that experience and take advantage of the extra magic hours !
It looks like we cant go far wrong with 'pop century' so I will see if I can fit a tiny little stay into our super busy itinerary. :)

Here's a related question that popped into my head and I cant find an answer on the net..............as yet !

if I do book a single night in a Disney hotel can I still use my resort pass for the morning EMH after I have checked out?

im not sure but i would think you can as the EMH start earlier than the check out time,

Yes you can use your card until the end of the day you check out, same applies to dining plan credits.

Thanks very much for all the helpful opinions on the Disney value resorts.
we had decided on 'pop century' and I was raring to go ahead and make a booking on Saturday night.
Don't ask me how or why but we found ourselves investigating the 'moderate' resorts and we really like the idea of a day or 2 at 'Port Orleans Riverside'.
As I mentioned before , we're only after one night at a Disney hotel just to have the 'Disney experience'
and take advantage of the extra magic hours.
At the moment It looks like Port Orleans Riverside has nudged pop century aside.

I do think the moderate Disney hotels are better Jack.......and also you can get on the boats across to Downtown Disney and Westside.

It's the boat rides to Downtown (and the horse and carriage ride) that has us hooked.:)

We are looking to do the same thing, just a short stay in a Disney Hotel. We started off with 1 nights stay and now this is extended to three nights. But we cannot decide between us which hotel to stay at. I am looking for a good location close to DTD, with a good pool area. If anyone has any more suggestions I would be very grateful!
