Default July 11 – Discovery Cove plans new exotic attraction for 2011

SeaWorld’s Discovery Cove is planning a new attraction for the park. A new 875,000 gallon saltwater reef is due to open next year. The new attraction will allow visitors to swim with sharks and tropical fish. There will also be a new nature trail allowing visitors to experience the reef from above as well as below the water. Officials at the park have yet to announce the full details but there are plans to reveal more this autumn.

It is hoped this new attraction will encourage more visitors to Discovery Cove especially as both Universal Orlando and Disney have new attractions to entice visitors. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter recently opened and the Fantasyland expansion at Magic Kingdom is due to due to be completed in 2013.

I hope its ready when we go next July The boys are gutted that we are not visiting Discovery Cove in August but eldest son had surgery on his foot at Easter and isn't allowed to swim yet so this would be something to look forward to as they love the current tropical fish pool

I'm sure there have been tropical fish when we've been. they were picking at my legs and the last time we got fish food to feed them in the shallows, the sharks and barracuda were on the other side of the glass partition.
If they are going to be in the main reef They must be the sharks that stay on the bottom like the ones in Typhoon Lagoon.
